Continuing to Foster Community Through Live Performance
For more than 40 years, Arts for the Schools has carried forward the vision of founder Terri Yagura, rooted in the belief that the arts have the power to connect, inspire, and transform communities. Terri’s dream was to bring the arts directly into the lives of students across the North Tahoe and Truckee regions—ensuring that young people, no matter their background, could experience the transformative power of creativity.
With the acquisition of Fox Cultural Hall, established through the leadership and vision
of Eve McEneaney, that mission has grown even broader. Today, Terri’s legacy continues—expanded to serve not only our schools but our entire community—creating a home where imagination flourishes, cultures converge, and all people can find a true
sense of belonging.
Today, our team remains deeply committed to keeping the arts alive and accessible for
our North Tahoe community. Through our Performing Arts Offerings to the community, we are building a vibrant future for live performance with a focus on three distinct tiers of artistic experiences:
1. Celebrating Cultures from Around the World
Through our Arts for the Schools initiative, we bring world-class cultural performing artists directly into North Tahoe classrooms, sharing global traditions in storytelling, music, dance and more with local youth. These residencies culminate in public performances at Fox Cultural Hall, giving our entire community the chance to experience the magic together.
This season, we were thrilled to host MOLODI, a high-energy body percussion ensemble (molodilive.com), and Jean François Alcoléa and Company’s cinematic concert experience, Right in the Eye (alcolea-cie.net). These performances not only delighted audiences of all ages but also offered deep cultural education and inspiration to the next generation.
2. Uplifting Local Talent
We believe that a thriving arts community starts at home. That’s why we’re passionate about showcasing local musicians and performing artists, offering a platform for their talents to shine.
Recently, our stage has been alive with performances by The Aspen Collective, The Dead Seagalls, and Peter Joseph Burtt and the Kingtide. Each performance reaffirms what we already know: North Tahoe is brimming with incredible creativity and heart.
Why Your Support Matters
When you attend a public show at Fox Cultural Hall, you’re doing more than just enjoying a night of incredible live entertainment—you’re directly supporting the Arts for the Schools mission. Proceeds from our public performances help fund arts education programs for thousands of students across our region. Every ticket you buy helps bring the arts into more classrooms, inspire more young minds, and ensure that creativity remains a vital part of our community’s future.
If you believe in the power of the arts to inspire, to connect, and to uplift our community, we invite you to stand with us. Every donation, every ticket, and every moment you
share with us helps keep the arts thriving in North Tahoe. You can support us by making a donation at our live events or by visiting foxchall.org to give online. Every dollar counts. Every gift makes a difference.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for helping us keep the arts alive here in North Tahoe—for today and for generations to come.
