Opportunity
Arts For the Schools Mural Project invites Artists to submit a design and qualifications for the opportunity to be selected to paint a mural on an area of the exterior abutment walls under the Truckee River Bridge bike trail (just past the Tahoe City Transit Center), located in Tahoe city, CA. 
 
There are two mural spaces available that measure approximately 12’H x 43’ 6” W (wall 516 sq feet ) x 43’ 6” x 14’ (ceiling 602 square feet).  Each mural will span the side wall and roof.  The artist/teams will be selected to have a mural featured long-term, on the shared walkways under the Tahoe City – Truckee River Bridge, visible from the bike paths. Colors in the mural design should be limited to light, or pastel colors, and require Caltrans approval.   The selected artist will receive a $17,500 artists commission PER MURAL for a total of $35,000.  The proposal should include an artist design within the themes of: environmental stewardship, local history (North Lake Tahoe or Tahoe City) and cultural heritage.
